My Story

I guess the best possiable way to start this adventure is with me telling you a little about myself. My name is Stacey and I am a 24 year old stay at home mom to one wonderful baby boy. I had my son in October of 2008, about 3 weeks after I started noticing I wasn’t really “myself”. I ignored it as it got worse for the next six weeks before I saw my Ob/Gyn at my 6 week follow up. I told my Ob/Gyn how I had been feeling, that I was withdrawn and down and all in all just feeling a little off, she did perscribed me 25mg of Zoloft. I went straight to the pharmacy full of hope got the perscription filled and started taking it. Over the next few days I got worse! Turns out the Zoloft makes me mean, which was more then a little frustrating. I decided it was still early and to give it more time. Seven months later, yes seven, I got a newsletter from my husbands work that as part of employee benfit program we had acces to counclers. Figuring I had nothing to lose I called, I spoke with my amazing counsler created some goals, which lead us to now. I just started with the councler but am feeling better already, it’s nice to see a light at the end of the tunnel. I would like this blog to be a vehicle to get information out there. I know there are so many different resources but a lot of them lack a personal perspective, and sometimes knowing you’re not broken, that there is someone who feels or has felt the same way you feel is validating and makes you feel better.

Now please bare with me as I get the hang of running this kind of blog, and as I gather resources also please send me any resources or stories you have found helpful. You can also always e-mail me at stacey0313@gmail.com if you think you have found something that might fit or with your own story!
